Klaske joined The Talent Institute's Growth Hacking trainee program (now a 1-year Digital Marketing Traineeship) in 2022 and was placed at Groove Digital. In this blog, she will share her experience.
On February 28th, I started at The Talent Institute, and the adventure as a Growth Hacking Trainee began. After the training, the plan is to put what I've learned into practice.
During this firth month of intensive training, I'll be picking up the latest marketing techniques and corresponding mindset. Together with my fellow trainees, we'll be prepared to work for companies like Groove Digital.
First and foremost, I'll be focusing on Groove Digital's social media channels. As a digital agency, the online business card (a.k.a. the socials) is important for both potential clients and future colleagues. I'm really excited to work on this project. Additionally, I've assisted with some content for the website. Lastly, I'll be focusing on helping a client grow through SEO and social media management.
The 'Growth Mindset' I've learned here is applicable not only in my work but also in my personal life.
From my studies in 'Ecological Pedagogy', I've learned to look at the bigger picture (different systems). As a Growth Hacker, it's pretty much the same; perhaps familiar to some: you look at the Pirate Funnel. I enjoy looking at the bigger picture but also delving into details with new experiments.
There's so much to learn and experiment with. No day is the same! One day you'll end with a high conversion rate, and the next day you'll be iterating. By maintaining the Growth Mindset, you don't shy away from challenges.
But... What's the difference then? Traditional digital marketers often only focus on the top of the funnel: awareness and acquisition. As a Growth Hacker, you quickly set up short experiments and then dive into the data. In the short period of the experiment, you can validate or debunk assumptions.
It's a continuous learning process, where mindset is key. How can you set up a new experiment differently or improve it? How can you constantly improve and think in terms of possibilities? This involves a bit of creativity: the mindset pushes you to think outside the box.
As described earlier, as a Growth Hacker, you look at the entire funnel. An experiment can be small, but the impact can be significant. I enjoy thinking creatively and constantly thinking about: how can we grow and improve the customer and Groove Digital?

So... When someone asks me what exactly I do, I'll just refer them to this blog 😉. Until next time!
