Defining a new employee experience to improve satisfaction and create a culture change

The Client

Enexis Netbeheer is one of the six regional grid operators in the Netherlands. Their primary responsibility as a grid operator is the construction and maintenance of the gas and electricity grid throughout the Netherlands. Additionally, they oversee the transportation of energy, facilitating the transfer of energy from solar farms and wind turbines to residential and commercial locations.

The Challenge

Defining a new employee experience to improve satisfaction and create a culture change within 6 months.

The approach

Our digital innovator worked closely with HR, operations, and communication to align with top leadership, creating an actionable roadmap for cultural change via the “Leiderschapskompas-program”.


Our approach involved 12 two-week sprints to understand employees' and managers' roles and challenges. We analyzed qualitative and quantitative data including employee satisfaction metrics, employee outflow analysis, and exit interviews. In addition we went to the field and interviewed managers and their teams.

The results

  • Insights into employees’ and managers’ current state (jobs, pains and gains)
  • Setup of the program “Leiderschapskompas” to create the manager of the future
  • A practical guide outlining the steps required to achieve the desired cultural shift, enabling Enexis to take actionable measures for improvement
