Vicky started the year right and began as a Digital Innovator in January. She has a background in Commercial Economics and Business Administration and worked as a project- and account manager at the DesignThinkers Academy.
Vicky, you did our Growth Hacking Traineeship in 2019. What are your learnings and what skills are you bringing to the Digital Innovator Program?
During the growth hacking traineeship I learned that it’s important to first formulate hypotheses and test them through (online) experiments. Instead of making assumptions you should look at people’s behavior in experiments and work with that. This can be done quickly and iteratively through online tools (which is what you’ll learn during the traineeship). Another important takeaway is that you’ll have to try to find out the reason why. Why do people want or do certain things? This way you will really understand the value of your product/service.
This 29-year-old has a background in Innovation Management and aspires to be an innovation expert. He used to work in Product Development at Essent and as a Customer Journey Specialist at Coolblue. He’s an idealist that wants to make a positive impact on the world.
Bas, why did you switch from being a Customer Journey Specialist at Coolblue to the Digital Innovator Program?
At Coolblue I learned a lot about research methods and solving real customer problems, however this was always within the context of an e‑commerce company. After working here for a while, I figured that I wanted to be more involved in projects revolving around customer needs. This made me decide to join The Talent Institute. In this way I want to learn more about product and service development in different sectors. Ultimately, I want to learn how to get from an idea to a validated scalable proposition as quickly as possible in order to help build a better world.
This busy bee has a background in Communication Sciences and did a MBA specializing in Entrepreneurship in the Creative industries. She worked at the advertising agency TBWA/NEBOKO, founded FirstFloor and gained experience at Brenger. She chose for the Digital Innovator program because of the personal development options.
Floor, you’ve been a Digital Innovator for a while now. How were your first months?
I felt at home from day 1. The type of people, the easy company culture and the various clients you work for – all of this really appeals to me. I had such a warm welcome and immediately had a quick coffee chat with everyone. I enjoyed the onboarding month, they really guide you through the process. You’re thrown in at the deep end, but if it works out you’ll be happy with and proud of the results. After this onboarding month I could directly start at the broadcaster EO. I started with another Digital Innovator which was very convenient, as I could learn from his experience. This made it a flying start!
