Romy van Kessel has been a Digital Innovator for more than 2 years now and has been quite a busy bee. After 5 projects at 5 different corporations, she became Lead Digital Innovator at TTI with vast knowledge of the whole Innovation cycle, from Discovery to Validation.
An overview of her projects as Digital Innovator at The Talent Institute:
Validating a digital proposition for AON
Her career as Digital Innovator started at AON, a multinational insurance broker. She started off as a Growth Hacker and was responsible for hosting sprints, building landing pages and she dove into everything data related. Her goal was to validate the proposition for a new app. She was part of a small innovation team and was always busy experimenting, running Facebook ads and reporting this to the management.
Setting De Firma Kaas up for Growth
For her second project Romy became Customer Experience Designer at de firma kaas, a corporate startup by Friesland-Campina. This new proposition is a subscription platform for different kinds of cheeses, delivered to your home.. After a switch in the initial assignment, Romy took charge of building and launching a new website and setting it up for growth. One of her highlights of this project was the campaign she did with HelloFresh, as they saw a surge in new customers after the launch of this campaign.
(in)validate the opportunity to reach a new market at PRS Pooling
PRS Pooling might not be a familiar name, but they certainly have global ambitions. PRS Pooling offers a circular pallet system supplying companies with reused and new pallets where needed. Together with fellow Digital Innovator Jesse Spruijt, Romy was New Business Development Lead at PRS Pooling and responsible for finding out if their value proposition could be interesting for a different market.
Design, test and experiment with concepts at Nestlé Purina
From pallets in Eindhoven to dog snacks in Sweden. There’s never a dull moment in the life of a Digital Innovator. As an Experiment Designer at Nestle Purina, Romy was trying to find out if there was a need for sustainable dog food in Sweden and a sustainable dog snack in The Netherlands. Her main tasks were to validate or invalidate assumptions and turning them into a concept. The ‘winning’ concept of the sustainable dog snack was developed into an MVP and was shelf tested in Dutch supermarkets.
Product research & user testing at Philips
And finally her current role as Product Researcher at Philips. For a new male-grooming app, Romy is responsible for research and user tests to find out possible features of the new app. Her highlight of this project? ‘‘At Philips we worked together with a talented team of UX designers, content strategists, product owners and mobile developers. This really boosts your learning curve.’’
